Overview

The MARS 6™ Hydrolysis system uses microwave technology to hydrolyze proteins and peptides, resulting in complete and rapid hydrolysis of any sample type. Parallel processing allows up to 24 samples to be hydrolyzed simultaneously, meeting high throughput needs for any laboratory. Intuitive software and simple vessel design makes programming and operation easy.

Accurate and fast hydrolysis.

The power of microwave energy, temperature monitoring, and in-situ stirring ensures a rapid and complete hydrolysis. Total processing time, including cool-down of 24 samples is 90 minutes or less. When compared to traditional methods requiring 12-20 hours, microwave energy removes the sample prep bottleneck. Reaction acceleration results in cleaner hydrolysates and better results.

Perform either an acid hydrolysis or base hydrolysis with the same system. In addition, use the same MARS 6 system for digestion or extraction lab needs.

The easy-to-assemble vessel completely contains every sample and all acid/bases, reducing exposure to lab personnel. Temperature monitoring of each sample, combined with notification at a safe release temperature, are just some of the safety features of the MARS 6 system.
The Process
The Process

Safe and simple hydrolysis.

The MARS 6 on-board software is an intuitive app based software platform with hundreds of preprogrammed methods. Use iLink Remote Control Application and gain the freedom to monitor and control your MARS 6 from virtually anywhere.

1. Select a Method
After the turntable is loaded with 20 mL vessels containing samples, reagents, and stir bars, simply select the proper method and press "Start".

2. The Sample is Hydrolyzed
During the run, the MARS 6 Hydrolysis will follow the method according to the selected parameters, including initalizing, ramping, holding, cooling, etc. Microwave power is applied to rapidly hydrolyze the sample. The turntable will rotate to allow the IR sensor to monitor the temperature of each sample.

3. Sample is Cooled
For user safety, when the run is complete, the MARS 6 Hydrolysis will allow the vessels to cool in-unit. After cooling, the sample is ready for analysis.
