CEM Wins 2009 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award

The revolutionary technology of the Sprint Rapid Protein Analyzer has won a Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award in the Greener Reaction Conditions category. This prestigious award is presented by the United States Environmental Protection Agency to recognize outstanding technological and chemical design innovations that incorporate green chemistry principles and can be effectively utilized in industry for pollution prevention.

The traditional standard reference test for protein determination is Kjeldahl, a method developed in the late 19th century which utilizes large volumes of hazardous chemicals and takes hours to run.  Sprint is more accurate than Kjeldahl, can be run in minutes, and uses our proprietary iTAG™ solution, which is non-toxic and environmentally benign.
